Birthday Fundraiser Report 2015

Our birthday celebration was so much fun!  And our Auction Fundraiser was a huge success!

I can't believe a year has gone by since we started our Facebook group, which has now grown into a nonprofit organization that helps over 10,800 families nationwide.  And really soon, we'll have our official status as a 501(c)(3) organization!

This past year has been so much fun, I never dreamed it would become such a blessing to myself as well as others.  I began the Facebook group on a whim, wanting to "Pay it Forward" after having received so much support and help during my own family's hard time financially.  And I'm so glad to see how much it has grown, and to see so many families helping each other out every day!  Thank you all for being so kind and generous!

To celebrate our birthday, the leadership team and I decided to run a brief, one-week auction within the group.  Selling was temporarily allowed, and sellers were given the option of donating all or some of their proceeds to the organization.  The funds were to be used to raise the remaining $200 we needed to pay for our IRS application to become a 501(c)(3) official charity, so that we could begin to offer donors a tax-deductible receipt for their donations.

I am so excited to announce the final tally of donations we received during the auction!  It was our biggest fundraiser EVER!  We will certainly do it again, so watch the blog.  The leadership team is discussing the possibility of having another Auction Week in December/January.

We raised a total of $437.28 during the fundraiser!  That means we've got $237.28 that we will be able to use to help homeschool families in need!

Thank you so much for your donations, your participation during Auction Week, and for following along here on the blog.  The organization wouldn't be able to fulfill it's mission if it weren't for YOU!

Donations may still be coming in, but I decided to go ahead and report now.  If you are still needing to donate, please click here.  Thank you!
